CHC30113 CERTIFICATE III IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND CARE

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of early childhood education settings who work within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. They support the implementation of an approved learning framework and support children’s well-being, learning and development. Depending on the setting, educators may work under direct supervision or autonomously. Under the Education and Care Services National Law (2011) the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) publishes lists of approved early childhood education and care qualifications and information regarding regulatory requirements.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must demonstrate a capacity to undertake study by providing the following requirements:

Minimum Age18 years of over at the time of commencement
Academic LevelYear 12 or equivalent high school certificate
English LanguageIELTS Test Score of 5.0 or equivalent (TOEFL IBT 58 / PTE Academic 36 / Cambridge English – FCE / OET Pass Grade / TOEFL PBT 490 / TOEIC 500) English language test scores
LLN AssessmentComplete Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment for identifying if a prospective individual required LLN support

STUDY MODE

The delivery methods include face-to-face classroom learning, 6 hours per week of online participation, blended learning, projects, and practical training component that requires you to undertake 240 mandatory work placement hours (12 weeks @ 20 hours per week). The students must obtain a Current Working with Childre Check prior to placement with a Work Based Training host employer.

ASSESSMENT

Students will be assessed in a variety of ways that may include, written answers, quizzes, practical demonstrations and observations.

AWARD REQUIREMENTS

Students will need to successfully complete all units in this course to receive a certificate. Those students who completed individual units will receive a Statement of Attainment for units successfully completed.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL OR CREDIT TRANSFER (CT)

Recognition is available to students with prior skills, experience, knowledge or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training in related areas. Recognition may reduce the duration of your studies.

FUTURE STUDIES

After completing CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care you may progress to CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.
